Europe Like Hell: Images of Russian 'Drone Rain' Devastate Ukraine
Russia launched one of its largest waves of attacks in recent times against several cities in Ukraine in the early hours of Tuesday (2/6/2026). A series of drone and missile strikes hit the capital, Kyiv, as far as Dnipro, killing at least 10 people and injuring approximately 100 others. Throughout this war, Russia has routinely targeted Ukraine’s energy networks and infrastructure, while Ukraine has increased its attacks on Russian oil facilities this year. Both nations deny intentionally targeting civilians. Images from the scene show large explosions and thick plumes of smoke rising above high-rise residential areas in Kyiv. A 24-storey apartment building was reportedly hit directly by a missile, causing part of the structure to collapse, leaving several residents feared trapped under the rubble. In the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine, Russian drone and missile attacks also caused at least 10 injuries, including a child, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. This wave of attacks occurred just one day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of the possibility of a major Russian offensive.
