The European Commission has started transferring the promised €6 billion (approximately Rp122 trillion) to Ukraine for the purchase of military drones. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that the first tranche of funding, amounting to €3.9 billion (approximately Rp79 trillion), was disbursed on Tuesday (30/6). “Today, we are channelling the first tranche of €3.9 billion for advanced drone technology to strengthen Ukraine’s defence. Further funds will follow,” von der Leyen stated via platform X. The remainder of the programme’s funds will be transferred in the coming days as requests from Ukraine are processed, according to a statement from the European Commission. The programme is part of a €90 billion (Rp1.82 quadrillion) credit financing package for Ukraine approved by the EU for the 2026-2027 period. Russia has repeatedly stated that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder conflict resolution efforts and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict. The Kremlin has said that Western arms supplies to Ukraine have hampered peace negotiations.
