EU promises additional 100 million euros for Lebanese Armed Forces

Brussels (ANTARA) - The European Union (EU) has agreed to provide additional aid amounting to 100 million euros (1 euro equals Rp20,932) or approximately 116 million US dollars (1 US dollar is equivalent to Rp18,039) to the Lebanese Armed Forces. This was announced by the EU’s Head of Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, on Thursday (4/6).

The EU’s announcement was made as the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon faces increasing pressure. Via the social media platform X, Kallas stated that the recent ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon provides an opportunity to prevent the return of full-scale hostilities.
