EU opens dumping inquiry
BRUSSELS (Reuter): The European Commission said it has decided to open an inquiry into possible dumping of unbleached cotton fabrics from China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Turkey following European industry complaints.
The announcement in issue C50 of the Official Journal of the European Communities states that evidence provided by the Committee of the Cotton and Allied Textile Industries of the European Union shows proof of a major rise in the share of the EU market taken by the imports.
It asks for interested parties to make the views known to the Commission within 10 days.
