EU lifts extra duties on RI shoes
The Jakarta Post Jakarta
The European Union has lifted anti-dumping duties of between 2 and 20.3 percent on Indonesian-made footwear containing leather or plastics, the ministry of industry and trade said Monday.
The anti-dumping measures were due on March 1 this year in line with the World Trade Organization (WTO) regulation stating that an anti-dumping duty is only valid for five years, the ministry said in a statement.
The anti-dumping duties were levied on shoes produced by 12 Indonesian companies, that is PT Emperor Footwear, PT Indosepamas Aggun, PT Primashoes Ciptakreasi, PT Dragon, PT Fortune Mate, PT Bosaeng Jaya, PT Karet Murni Jelita, PT Koryo International, PT Lintas Adhikrida, PT Universal Wisesa, PT Volmacoral and PT Kingherlindo.
With the expiration of the anti-dumping measures, Indonesian shoe producers will have a greater chance to boost their exports to the EU, the ministry said.
