EU insists diplomacy is the only way forward for Iran

The European Commission on Wednesday stressed that diplomacy remains the only way to resolve outstanding issues between Iran and the United States. “It is clear that only diplomacy can deliver a sustainable solution to all outstanding issues,” Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni told reporters in Brussels. The EU also urged all parties to fully comply with the ceasefire, implement UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and refrain from actions that could jeopardise the ongoing diplomatic process. The statement came after the United States launched new strikes and President Trump declared the ceasefire with Tehran was “over”, raising fears of renewed conflict in the region.
