EU Imposes Sanctions on Israeli Settlement Groups and Individuals Over West Bank Rights Violations

The European Union has imposed sanctions on three individuals and four organisations involved in human rights violations against Palestinians in the West Bank as part of Israeli settlement activities, according to an official EU journal document. The restrictions target the settlement movement ‘Nachala’ and its director Daniella Weiss; Israeli NGO ‘Regavim’ and its director Meir Deutsch; NGO ‘Hashomer Yosh’ and its president Avichai Suissa; as well as the ‘Amana’ cooperative association from the ‘Gush Emunim’ settlement movement. The sanctions, adopted under the EU’s global human rights sanctions regime, include asset freezes and travel bans to EU member states.
