EU and Mexico sign modernised Global Agreement
European Union and Mexico have signed the Modernised Global Agreement, which governs deeper cooperation in trade, investment, and politics between the two countries, according to an announcement by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the event. The agreement is one of the most ambitious ever signed by the European Union, von der Leyen said at the event, which was broadcast live by the Mexican government. The document was signed by von der Leyen and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. According to the European Commission president, the agreement covers political dialogue, investment, trade, the digital economy, energy, security, migration, and cooperation in health.
