The National Police Traffic Corps, led by Kakorlantas Irjen Agus Suryonugroho, is intensifying traffic monitoring during the ‘ngabuburit’ period. The ETLE Drone Patrol is being optimised to monitor traffic along Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu and Jalan MT Haryono.

This initiative demonstrates the National Police Traffic Corps’ commitment to ensuring the safety and smooth mobility of the public in the lead-up to the breaking of the fast. This monitoring is being carried out specifically on two main corridors that serve as routes for people moving to and from Jakarta’s activity centres.

The activity is coordinated by the Director of Traffic Law Enforcement of the National Police Traffic Corps, Brigjen Faizal, with technical support from the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Traffic Management of the Directorate of Traffic Law Enforcement of the National Police Traffic Corps, Kombes Dwi Sumrahadi Rakhmanto. The monitoring is systematic, measurable, and based on real-time field data.

As the time for breaking the fast approaches, the volume of vehicles on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu and Jalan MT Haryono increases significantly as people return home or shop for iftar. Both of these routes are known as strategic arterial roads with high traffic intensity, so extra monitoring is needed to anticipate congestion and potential traffic slowdowns.

By using drones, officers obtain a comprehensive aerial visual view to understand vehicle movement patterns, points of slowdown, and potential obstacles that can cause congestion. The ETLE Drone Patrol technology also enables early detection of violations and risky driving behaviour, such as lane violations, running red lights, and improper use of road shoulders.

Law enforcement is carried out professionally, transparently, and accountably, while still prioritising a humanistic approach as part of education and prevention. The optimisation of this monitoring is not only focused on enforcement but also on preventive measures and rapid response in managing traffic flow in the event of a surge in vehicles.

With the support of modern technology and the readiness of personnel in the field, the National Police Traffic Corps ensures that the safety, security, order, and smoothness of traffic on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu and Jalan MT Haryono are maintained, so that the public can carry out their Ramadan worship safely, comfortably, and solemnly.
