Ethnic accessories on display

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian traditional accessories
exhibition was opened yesterday by the director general of
culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Edi Sedyawati.

The exhibition is aimed at introducing people to Indonesia's
diverse cultural heritage through traditionally and historically
created accessories.

The display is also part of the commemoration of the 50th
anniversary of Indonesia's independence, explained Museum
Director, Sri Soejatmi Satari.

Accessories displayed at the exhibition include crowns, gold
necklaces, bracelets, earrings, kris and various items of ethnic
clothing.

Sponsored by the National Museums Directorate in cooperation
with the National Provinces Museum. the exhibition is being held
at the Jakarta National Museum until Jan. 21.
