Ethel to take part in marathon c'ship

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's Ethel Hudson, the current Southeast Asian Games silver medalist, will take part in the Asian Marathon Championship in South Korea on Oct. 26.

Ethel said that he will try to improve his personal best of two hours 21 minutes, which he ran in the SEA Games. Breaking the national record of 2:19.18, produced by countryman Eduardus Nobunome in the 1994 Asian Championship in Bandung, is another challenge for him.

The country's Olympian said that his preparations for the championship are going much better than they did for the Olympics. He considers Korean, Japanese and Chinese runners as his toughest rivals. (yan)
