SOLO, KOMPAS.com - Travel from Jakarta to Yogyakarta via the Trans Jawa toll road has become a favourite for many mudik travellers because it is faster and more comfortable. This toll corridor connects major cities on Java with relatively modern infrastructure. However, drivers must ensure their electronic toll card balance is sufficient, as the total toll cost is substantial.

For Golongan I vehicles such as sedans, MPVs, and SUVs, the total toll from Jakarta to Yogyakarta is around Rp 442,000 with a 30 per cent discount, down from Rp 575,000 for a one-way trip at normal rates.

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo emphasised that the discount applies across four main corridors: Jabodetabek Toll: 4 sections; Trans Java: 10 sections; Non-Trans Java: 4 sections; Trans Sumatra: 11 sections. β€˜The 30 per cent discount is provided to avoid congestion on the day of peak travel. With this discount, mudik travellers are expected to depart and return earlier than the predicted peak traffic,’ he said, citing KOMPAS.com, Saturday 7 March 2026.

The first toll section on the JakartaYogyakarta route is the JakartaCikampek segment, with a tariff around Rp 27,000. This toll road forms the main exit from Jakarta towards the Trans Java corridor.

Thereafter, the journey continues to Cipali (CikopoPalimanan), which has a tariff around Rp 132,000. This is one of the longest segments on Trans Java and is commonly used for long-distance travel.

Next, travellers pass through KanciPejagan with a tariff around Rp 31,500. This section opens the way into western Central Java.

Thereafter, vehicles pass PejaganPemalang with a tariff around Rp 66,000. This toll helps accelerate journeys that previously would have had to traverse the congested Pantura route.

Up to this point, the total toll could be discounted by 30 per cent if the departure coincides with 1516 March 2026. The tariff originally Rp 440,000 becomes Rp 308,000, with a discount of Rp 132,000.

To reach Yogyakarta, the journey then continues via the SemarangSolo toll with a tariff around Rp 92,000, before heading toward Yogyakarta. Finally, the trip continues through the SoloJogja segment with a tariff around Rp 42,500.

Ensure the balance on electronic wallets is sufficient, as the toll discount does not apply if a transaction fails due to insufficient balance or unreadable card.
