Estella joins Dewa United, Isabelle moves to Persikad
PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member Vivin Cahyani Sungkono has revealed that women’s player Estella Loupatty has joined Dewa United, while Isabelle Nottet has moved to Persikad Depok for the 2026/27 Indonesia Women’s League.
“Estella is at Dewa, while Isabelle is at Persikad,” Vivin said when met by journalists at the I.League Office in Jakarta on Thursday.
Dewa United and Persikad are two of the six participants in the 2026/27 Indonesia Women’s League. The other four participants are Persija Jakarta, Persita Tangerang, FC Bekasi City, and Garudayaksa FC.
This season’s Indonesia Women’s League applies a regulation whereby each team will receive a player from the Indonesian women’s national team. The six clubs are also permitted to use four foreign players.
Estella and Isabelle, who hold diaspora status as Indonesian national team players, fall into the foreign player category in the first edition of the Indonesia Women’s League after the competition was dormant for seven years since it was last held in 2019.
When asked whether other Indonesian diaspora players would follow in the footsteps of the two players by joining this season’s Indonesia Women’s League, Vivin explained, “For now there are only two diaspora players because we know they are still tied to other clubs.”
“And because this is only our first year, they may still want to wait and see whether the league is really genuine. That’s okay, because they have options. If our teams don’t have options, then they wait for the competition from us. And we are indeed in line with the agreement and promise — we are making this happen and running it.”
“But I am confident that if we run this well, the matches are good, the schedule is good, and then regarding their scheduling, if for example they can play here and play there. Because our competition season is still short,” she said.
“It will be announced later,” said Teddy.
The competition format for the 2026-2027 Indonesia Women’s League season uses a centralised triple round-robin system in Jakarta. Each club will play a minimum of 15 matches in one season with a sports festival concept.
That number of matches applies to the initial stage. The top four clubs will play in the semi-finals, and the winners will then play in the final.
The competition will begin on 17 October with the opening match between Persita Tangerang and Persija Jakarta at Soemantri Brodjonegoro Stadium, South Jakarta.
