Essence of Wood at Hadiprana

Those who love sculptures can satisfy their aesthetic senses
when nine Balinese sculptors display their creations in
September.

Titled Kayuning Kayu (Essence of Wood), the exhibition will
take place at the Hadiprana Gallery in Kemang, South Jakarta,
from Sept.3 through Sept.25.

The nine sculptors are the "disciples" of Ida Bagus Tilem, who
is known for reviving Balinese sculpture.

Although this young generation of sculptors produces high
quality artistic works, their names are not the center of
discussion on sculpture.

It is hoped that this exhibition will contribute to making
Balinese sculptors better known.
