ESDM signs contract for Phase 1 construction of Cirebon gas network

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Oil and Gas (Ditjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) formally signed the Development Contract and Supervisory Consultancy for the Household Gas Network (Jargas) in Cirebon Regency Phase 1. ‘We request the works to proceed in accordance with the timeline; when handover occurs, we hope all works meet quality standards and timing,’ said Agung Kuswardono, Director of Planning and Development of Oil and Gas Infrastructure, Ditjen Migas. In a statement confirmed to ANTARA from Jakarta on Thursday, he explained that Phase 1 of the Jargas development in Cirebon Regency is planned to cover around 41,000 household connections across Palimanan, Gempol, Depok and Dukupuntang. ‘The works will commence on 20 May 2026 and are targeted to be completed by 31 December 2026,’ he said. The contract signing marks the initial stage of coordinating the implementation of Jargas infrastructure in Cirebon Regency for the 2026 fiscal year, with PT PGAS Solution as the construction contractor and PT Surveyor Indonesia as the supervising consultant. The contract signing took place at the Ibnu Sutowo Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May). ‘We will ensure the works are carried out in accordance with the timeline, quality, and applicable regulatory or compliance provisions. Because the Jargas development is a crucial part of supporting energy resilience and national energy independence,’ said Bambang.
