ESDM Assures No Price Increase for Pertalite and Biosolar in April 2026
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has assured that there will be no increase in the prices of subsidised fuels on 1 April 2026, even as global crude oil prices fluctuate. The price of the subsidised fuel type Pertalite remains set at Rp 10,000 per litre, while Biosolar stays at Rp 6,800 per litre. This was stated by the Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of ESDM, Laode Sulaeman, amid widespread rumours of a subsidised fuel price hike starting 1 April 2026. Regarding non-subsidised fuel prices such as Pertamax and others, Laode requested the public to await an official announcement from PT Pertamina (Persero). He also urged the public not to speculate on non-subsidised fuel prices. “For non-subsidised fuels, let’s wait until 1 April,” Laode said. Meanwhile, Pertamina’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, stated that as of now, there has been no official decision regarding fuel price adjustments from 1 April 2026. “The circulating information on projected fuel price increases cannot be held accountable; as of now, there has been no official announcement regarding prices from 1 April 2026,” Baron remarked.
