ESDM Assesses Pertamax Turbo Price Increase as Aligned with Global Oil Prices
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) assesses that the increase in prices for Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex is aligned with the rise in global oil prices, which have been impacted by the war between Iran and the United States (US) as well as Israel in the Middle East.
“We understand that the adjustment of non-subsidised fuel prices is part of a mechanism that follows the dynamics of global oil prices and exchange rates, so this is a response to global market conditions,” said ESDM Ministry Spokesperson Dwi Anggia to ANTARA when contacted from Jakarta on Saturday.
Anggia stated that neighbouring countries have already raised fuel prices beforehand, even with quite high ranges of increases.
Regarding price determination, Anggia conveyed that the most important thing is to ensure transparent, competitive prices that do not cause market distortions.
“But the important thing we need to emphasise is that the Government ensures that subsidised fuel prices, whether Pertalite or Subsidised Solar, do not rise,” said Anggia.
The government has stated that it will maintain the stability of Pertalite and subsidised solar prices until the end of 2026.
The government’s priority, she continued, is to maintain people’s purchasing power and protect vulnerable groups.
“However, once again, we can certainly get through this situation with cooperation and support from the public. InsyaAllah, we can survive,” said Anggia.
PT Pertamina (Persero) has raised prices for several non-subsidised fuel products, namely Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex, starting this Saturday.
Quoting Pertamina’s official website in Jakarta on Saturday, the price of Pertamax Turbo for the DKI Jakarta region as of 18 April is up by Rp19,400 per litre from the price on 1 April 2026 of Rp13,100 per litre.
For Dexlite, the price is set at Rp23,600 per litre, up from Rp14,200 per litre on 1 April 2026.
Meanwhile, for Pertamina Dex, the price is set at Rp23,900 per litre from the previous Rp14,500 per litre.
The price of Pertamax (RON 92) fuel remains at Rp12,300 per litre and Pertamax Green at Rp12,900 per litre.
Pertamina is also still maintaining the price of subsidised Pertalite fuel at Rp10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp6,800 per litre.
