ESDM and Danantara Consolidate Mining Licenses Data to Support DSI Operations
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yuliot Tanjung, stated that his ministry is currently coordinating with Danantara Indonesia regarding mining business license (IUP) data for PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia’s (DSI) export activities.
According to Tanjung, the ESDM is focusing on aspects such as IUP, transportation, and sales. ‘We have already consolidated this data with Danantara,’ he said at the ESDM Ministry in Jakarta on Friday, 29 May 2026.
In supporting natural resource exports through DSI, including commodities like coal, palm oil, and ferroalloy, Tanjung confirmed the ESDM is responsible for IUP data management. He assured the ministry would facilitate the completion of licensing aspects and their implementation.
‘We will facilitate the licensing process and its implementation,’ he added.
It is known that President Prabowo announced the issuance of a Government Regulation (PP) on the Management of Natural Resource Commodities Exports during a DPR RI Plenary Session on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. Consequently, the government established PT DSI as a state-owned enterprise specifically tasked with managing and overseeing strategic natural resource export transactions.
Dony Oskaria, Head of BP BUMN and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, stated on Monday, 25 May 2026, that DSI has officially become a state-owned enterprise and will operate in two phases. The first phase, running from 1 June to 31 December 2026, sees DSI acting as an evaluator and intermediary between sellers and buyers of specific export commodities. The second phase, targeted to begin in January 2027, will see DSI purchasing commodities from domestic exporters before selling them to international markets.
