ESDM Aims to Curb Impact of Pertamax Price Hike, Says Logistics Still Use Subsidised Fuel
The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Dwi Anggia, stated that logistics and public transport vehicles are still using subsidised fuel in order to limit the domino effect of the rising price of Pertamax. The statement addresses concerns over the varied impact of the Pertamax price increase on different business sectors. “At the very least, the domino effect can be minimised. For example, public transport, general transport, and logistics transport still use fuel subsidised by the government,” Anggia said at the ESDM Ministry in Jakarta on Thursday, 11 June 2026. She expressed hope that the impact of the rise in non-subsidised fuel prices, such as Pertamax and Pertamax Green, could be kept to a minimum. “If we are honest and do not take advantage of the situation, the impact of this non-subsidised fuel price increase will certainly be minimal,” she added. Anggawira, Secretary General of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), previously estimated that the logistics, transportation, goods distribution, field services, construction, plantation, and high-mobility MSME sectors would experience a direct increase in operational costs. HIPMI is therefore urging the government to prepare various mitigation measures to maintain the business world’s competitiveness. Proposed efforts include strengthening the efficiency of the national logistics chain and accelerating the development of energy and transportation infrastructure, as well as providing incentives for significantly affected productive sectors, particularly labour-intensive industries and MSMEs. It was announced that Pertamina Patra Niaga increased the prices of Pertamax and Pertamax Green fuel products starting 10 June 2026. The price of non-subsidised Pertamax (RON 92) rose from Rp 12,300 to Rp 16,250 per litre, while Pertamax Green 95 (RON 95) increased from Rp 12,900 to Rp 17,000 per litre. Pertamina has ensured the security of fuel supply across its network of public filling stations throughout Indonesia, confirming that prices for its other fuel products have not increased. Non-subsidised Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) remains at Rp 20,750 per litre, Dexlite (CN 51) at Rp 23,000 per litre, and Pertamina Dex (CN 53) at Rp 24,800 per litre. Meanwhile, subsidised Pertalite remains priced at Rp 10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp 6,800 per litre.
