Jakarta – Minister of the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI), Mukhtarudin, said that to date there have been no evacuation requests for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in the Middle East. “Alhamdulillah sampai hari ini belum ada, baik dari pemerintah, daripada pemerintah negara-negara Timur Tengah, maupun dari perwakilan kita di KBRI, untuk melakukan tindakan evakuasi. Maksudnya semuanya masih dalam under control,” Mukhtarudin told reporters at the Ministry of P2MI in Jakarta on Thursday (5 March 2026). In addition, he noted that there have been no reports of PMIs affected by the escalation in the Middle East conflict following the United States–Israel attack on Iran. “Akhirnya traumatiknya, dan itu pun sudah dilakukan pembinaan-pembinaan (dan) pendampingan kita,” he added. Mukhtarudin emphasised that the Ministry, together with Indonesian missions abroad, including the KBRI, continues to monitor the situation. The ministry has also established a crisis centre and opened a reporting hotline for PMIs. He urged that any incident be reported promptly. Furthermore, the KBRI proactively disseminates information through various channels, including mass media and social media. He added that the government, together with all Indonesian representatives overseas, will monitor and follow the day‑to‑day developments of the escalation in the Middle East to the maximum extent possible.
