Es Teler 77 expands

JAKARTA (JP): Es Teler 77 plans to sell the franchise for its new product, Pasti Enak, the company's owner said here yesterday.

Sukyatno Nugroho said his company would open an outlet for Pasti Enak, selling fish dishes, at Golden Truly supermarket on Jl. Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta, in the next two weeks.

Sukyatno said the planned franchise would be the third offered by his company. It has 183 Es Teler 77 outlets (fruit drinks) and 25 Tek-Tek (noodle dishes) outlets.

Es Teler 77 was set up in 1982 as a small cafe selling mixed fruit drinks and meatball and noodle soup. It began franchising its mixed fruit drinks in 1987, and its traditional noodle dishes in 1995.

Sukyatno said a franchisee had to pay an initial fee of Rp 30 million (US$12,290) to operate an Es Teler 77 outlet for five years, and Rp 17.5 million to operate a Tek-Tek outlet. (13)
