Ericsson wins RI order
STOCKHOLM (Reuter): Swedish telecoms giant LM Ericsson AB said yesterday it had won a 1.0 billion crown order from PT Excelcomindo Pratamato, a new Indonesian GSM operator, to expand a GSM network.
"(It) is a turnkey project which will result in a GSM network with the latest technology and services for good coverage and accessibility in the entire system," Ericsson said in a statement.
Excelcomindo is a joint venture between Indonesia's Telkomindo, U.S. Nynex Corp, Japan's Mitsui and the Asian Infrastructure Fund, Ericsson said.
The network will be in operation by end-1996 and completed in 1997, it added.
