Ericsson launches new phone

JAKARTA (JP): PT Ericsson Indonesia, a subsidiary of Sweden- based mobile phone manufacturer Ericsson, launched on Monday its new cell phone, the dual band R250s PRO.

The company announced that the new cell phone, claimed to be dust, water and shock resistant, was especially designed for use in rough and tough conditions, such as field work, rock climbing and mountain biking.

The Ericsson R250s PRO cell phone has a sturdy magnesium frame and rubber molding to protect against harsh treatment, and a special sealant around the body to avoid moisture from seeping in.

The company said the new cell phone, which is available in two colors, has several new functions, including a built-in speakerphone. (cst)
