Erick Thohir and John Herdman to Meet Prabowo at Hambalang

Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Erick Thohir will meet President Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, West Java, today. Erick will be accompanied by the coach of the national football team, John Herdman. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed the meeting plan. Teddy stated that Erick will report on a number of sports programmes to Prabowo. “Yes, there are several meetings since noon. Including Mr Menpora requesting time to report on several sports programmes to the President,” Teddy told reporters on Friday (19/6/2026). He said Erick, who is also the General Chairman of PSSI, will introduce Herdman to Prabowo. Herdman himself has already overseen a number of matches with the national team. “At the same time, he wants to introduce the national football team coach John Herdman,” he added. Teddy mentioned that Erick will meet Prabowo at 16.00 WIB. “(The President receives) Mr Menpora around 16.00 later,” he said.
