Erick Thanks Prabowo for Kemenpora Transformation
Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir expressed his gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for the trust and freedom given to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) to carry out bureaucratic transformation. Erick stated that the President’s directive to improve governance has been continuously implemented by the ministry. He noted that this reform has begun to show results, with the ministry’s performance assessment for bureaucratic transformation reaching 83 percent. “This is a significant increase compared to the previous year,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday. He also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform for its ongoing support. In addition to bureaucratic reform, Erick highlighted that Kemenpora once again received an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). “Alhamdulillah, we have again obtained a WTP. This is a positive indicator that the efforts to improve governance at Kemenpora are on the right track,” he said. Erick further noted that the follow-up on BPK’s findings at Kemenpora has reached 81 percent, a figure higher than the average of other ministries and institutions, which stands at 76 percent. Despite these achievements, he stressed that the ministry would not be complacent. He asserted that accountability for the use of state finances must continue to be enhanced. As part of the next steps, Kemenpora will strengthen the implementation of e-procurement and e-budgeting systems to ensure that budget management becomes increasingly transparent and accountable. Erick emphasised that all budgeting processes must be conducted openly to eliminate any room for the misuse of state funds.
