Erdogan's Office: Turkey Striving to Ease Iran-US Tensions

Ankara — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey is undertaking diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Iran and the United States (US), as well as other conflicts within the region, according to Erdogan’s Presidential Office on Friday.

Earlier on the same day, Erdogan held telephone talks with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the conversation, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations as well as various regional and international issues.

“We note that Turkey is striving to end the tensions between Iran and the US, as well as various similar conflicts in the region,” Erdogan’s office stated via its X account.

“President Erdogan emphasised that our peace-oriented diplomatic initiatives will continue, and we never condone attacks against friendly nations in the region,” it added.

Erdogan stated that cooperation between Ankara and Abu Dhabi, particularly in the fields of defence industry and economy, will continue to expand.

He added that Turkey is committed to further developing relations with the UAE.

Erdogan also emphasised the importance of cooperation between the two nations in addressing various other regional issues, according to the statement.
