Erdogan: 'Tyrant Netanyahu will learn a lesson from the world's Muslims'
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the destruction of Gaza and Palestine, warning that Muslims might soon teach him a lesson. He made the remarks during Eid al-Adha celebrations in his birthplace, Rize, where he urged Muslim unity and pressure on Israel. ‘What is happening in Palestine, Gaza, gives us a special stance and heightened vigilance during this Eid al-Adha. God willing, this tyrant Netanyahu will soon learn the fitting lesson from Muslims worldwide,’ he said, according to Anadolu news agency. The comments followed Israel’s detention of hundreds of activists from a Turkish humanitarian flotilla bound for Gaza, which aimed to challenge Israel’s blockade. Erdogan described the interception as ‘hijacking and theft’. Ankara has been supporting Palestine through humanitarian aid, diplomatic lobbying, ceasefire initiatives, and legal efforts regarding Gaza.
