Erdogan: Türkiye will continue to develop relations with the SCO

Ankara (ANTARA) - Türkiye will continue to develop its relationship with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), stated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday (7/9).

“The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, with which we are a dialogue partner, is one of the regional organisations whose relationship with us has increased in recent years,” said Erdogan, according to a press statement released by the Turkish Presidency following a cabinet meeting.

Noting that SCO member states account for a large portion of the global population and economic output, Erdogan stated that the organisation possesses significant potential.

Erdogan said that he reaffirmed Türkiye’s determination to increase trade with SCO member states during the “SCO Plus” meeting held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on 1 September.

The Turkish President added that the “SCO’s contribution to multipolarity” was also discussed during the meeting.
