French mining and metallurgy company Eramet Indonesia, together with the Kitong Bisa Foundation, officially closed the inaugural batch of the Eramet Beyond scholarship programme on 29-30 June 2026 in Jakarta. The programme, launched in November 2024, aims to broaden access to quality education for the younger generation in Eastern Indonesia while equipping them with future-ready skills.

CEO of Eramet Indonesia, Jerome Baudelet, stressed that investment in education is a key foundation for inclusive and sustainable development. Through this programme, the company is committed to opening opportunities for young talent to strengthen their leadership capacity and create a positive impact in their home regions.

‘We hope their journey through this programme will be the beginning of a greater contribution to the progress of their regions and Indonesia,’ Jerome said during the closing event in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6).

The Eramet Beyond scholarship programme was attended by 41 selected students from Maluku, Sulawesi, and Papua, who were chosen from more than 500 applicants nationwide. Throughout the programme, the scholarship recipients participated in 46 development sessions covering English language, project management, leadership, as well as financial and digital literacy.

The learning process was structured around four main stages: Learn, Lead, Serve, and Give Back. This method encourages participants not only to develop individually but also to provide tangible benefits to their surrounding communities.

One of the beneficiaries, Zaldi, said the scholarship allowed him to focus on his studies without having to work part-time. He even managed to secure full funding for his final research project in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

CEO of Kitong Bisa Foundation, Mohammad Afif, added that the programme’s success is measured not only by academic results but also by the leadership character and spirit of service of the participants. He is optimistic that the awardees will become agents of change who bring a positive impact to Eastern Indonesia.
