Eradicating KKN
Eradicating KKN
From Republika
Allow me to suggest that, in the eradication of corruption,
collusion and nepotism (KKN), those involved in these practices
must be given a chance to repent if they are willing to admit
their misconduct and surrender to the government part of what
they have unlawfully acquired.
It may be arranged that a certain progressive percentage will
be stipulated for the assets to be handed over to the government
and also that the time for repentance is limited to a certain
period.
All of this must be contained in a legal procedure to ensure
that everything can proceed well and that there will be no
revenge in the future. Input from lawyers, religious and
community figures will be needed.
It is hoped that the funds collected in this way may cover the
budget deficit and can even be used to pay offshore loans. What
is important, however, is that there is legal certainty and that
justice is served in harmony with our hope for a better future
for the nation.
