Equipped with A20 Pro Chip, These are the Advantages of the iPhone Duo
APPLE has officially entered a new era of mobile devices by introducing its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. The announcement was made during a special event titled ‘Surprise and Shine’ held at Apple Park, California, USA.
This latest flagship line arrives as the thinnest iPhone ever produced by Apple. Despite its slim profile, the iPhone Duo offers the largest screen in the company’s smartphone history, providing a wider visual experience for users.
The iPhone Duo features a passport-style (book-style) foldable format. To ensure durability and a premium aesthetic, Apple utilised grade 5 titanium for the body with a mirror finish.
The device is equipped with two display panels. Interestingly, the inner screen has been coated with nano-texture finish technology. This innovation aims to minimise light reflections and disguise the crease that is often a challenge in conventional foldable phones.
Under the hood, Apple has embedded its most advanced chip, the A20 Pro, built using a 2-nanometer fabrication process. To maintain stable temperatures when handling high workloads, this chipset is paired with a custom vapour chamber cooling system.
The A20 Pro chip is claimed to bring significant improvements to Artificial Intelligence (AI) performance and better power efficiency, particularly when running heavy multitasking features on the latest operating system, iOS 27.
For photography, the iPhone Duo relies on a dual rear camera module consisting of a 48MP Fusion main sensor and a 48MP Ultra Wide sensor. Meanwhile, to maintain a clean internal screen aesthetic, Apple has integrated a hidden Under-Display Camera for FaceTime.
Unlike other flagship iPhone series, the biometric system on the iPhone Duo has been moved to a Touch ID sensor embedded in the power button on the side of the device. Additionally, user productivity is enhanced through support for the Apple Pencil (USB-C) and a side-by-side feature to run two applications simultaneously.
The iPhone Duo is available in two elegant colour options: Night Sky and Star White. Pre-orders will open starting 16 October 2026, with global availability scheduled for 23 October 2026.
Recent rumours suggest that this foldable iPhone is scheduled to launch in September 2026, coinciding with the annual launch cycle of the latest iPhone generation. This move is seen as Apple’s response to the competition in the foldable phone market, which has been dominated by manufacturers from South Korea and China.
