Equatorial hotel acquired

JAKARTA (JP): The Equatorial Hotel has changed its name to Millennium Sirih Jakarta following PT Tanahabang Indah Pratama's recent sale of shares to a Singapore firm.

CDL Hotels International Ltd., a Singapore-based subsidiary of Republic Hotels and Resorts Ltd., has bought an 80 percent stake in Tanahabang Indah Pratama, which owns the 15-story hotel with 405 rooms, for US$13.8 million.

A CDL Hotels director, Edmond Ip, told reporters on Saturday, that the hotel in Jakarta will join 25 hotels around the world under the name of Millennium Hotels and Resorts.

The Millenium Sirih Jakarta hotel, located in Tanah Abang, central Jakarta, opened in 1994. (icn)
