Equality Education in Salafiyah Islamic Boarding Schools to Use E-Ijazah
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs reports that Equality Education in Salafiyah Islamic Boarding Schools (PKPPS) will use e-Ijazah, with regulations currently being drafted by the Directorate of Pesantren under the Directorate General of Islamic Education.
“The use of e-Ijazah is part of the digital transformation process in the pesantren environment,” said Secretary of the Directorate General of Islamic Education Arskal Salim in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Arskal stated that e-Ijazah is an inevitability in the digital era. According to him, pesantren cannot be separated from the flow of modernisation that demands a more transparent, accountable, and integrated administrative system.
E-Ijazah, he said, is the pesantren’s response to the developments of the times. Therefore, preparing its regulations is important so that its implementation has a strong legal basis and clear standards.
He emphasised the importance of valid and sustainable data integration. In this context, the challenges faced are not only in technical aspects but also in system security.
“We must be vigilant against potential hacking and ensure funding support for system maintenance so that this e-Ijazah can run sustainably,” he said.
Head of the Subdirectorate for Salafiyah Education and Yellow Book Studies Yusi Damayanti highlighted security aspects as the top priority in developing e-Ijazah. She stated that the system being built must have multi-layered protection mechanisms to guarantee the validity and integrity of documents.
“Multi-layered security is an absolute necessity in preparing e-Ijazah. In addition, adequate data integration must also be ensured to prevent duplication or misuse of data,” she said.
Yusi added that synergy between central and regional levels, as well as support from various stakeholders, is key to successfully implementing e-Ijazah in the PKPPS environment.
With this step, the Ministry of Religious Affairs hopes that e-Ijazah will not only become an administrative innovation but also an instrument to strengthen the quality of pesantren education that can compete in the digital era without leaving its traditional values.
