Envoy: Paris and Warsaw's Nuclear Training Plans Are War Preparations
Moscow (ANTARA) - Plans by Paris and Warsaw to conduct joint nuclear attack exercises against targets in Russia and Belarus constitute direct preparations for war.
That statement was made by Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Dmitry Polyansky, on Thursday.
Currently, a highly dangerous “nuclear consolidation” is taking place in Europe, which is particularly evident from the fact that France and the United Kingdom have begun extending their “nuclear umbrellas” to other European Union countries, the permanent representative stated.
“The formation of a network of agreements—from deals with Germany to Finland’s proposal to lift the ban on the presence of nuclear weapons on its territory—creates a new architecture of threats,” he said.
“And now Paris and Warsaw are openly preparing bilateral joint military exercises to practise nuclear strikes against targets in Russia and Belarus,” Polyansky said at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting on Thursday.
He added that “this is no longer rhetoric, but direct preparations for war.”
