Envision Energy Secures Contract for 200 MW Nearshore Wind Farm in Vietnam
Envision Energy, a global leader in green technology, has secured a contract for its largest wind power project in Vietnam through a partnership with REE Energy, a leading renewable energy investment firm in the country. The 200 MW project is also the largest nearshore wind farm developed by Envision outside of China to date, reinforcing the company’s development of its Future Energy System in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
The Phu Cuong 1A and 1B project will deploy 25 units of Envision’s EN-226/8.X YE turbines. Turbine delivery is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with grid connection targeted for October 2027. These turbines are specifically designed to operate optimally in nearshore waters with low to medium wind speeds, conditions typical of Vietnam and other Southeast Asian nations. With proven technology, adaptability to various site conditions, and reliable long-term performance, the turbines are expected to maximise energy production while enhancing the project’s long-term investment value.
Envision views the project as a potential benchmark for nearshore wind development in Vietnam, covering technology selection, engineering processes, project execution, and operational maintenance. The experience gained is expected to raise industry standards, promote quality-focused wind power development, and accelerate the clean energy transition across the ASEAN region.
The Phu Cuong 1A and 1B project represents the second collaboration between Envision Energy and REE Group, following the 128 MW Vinh Long wind power project. Production of the first turbine units for the Vinh Long project commenced at the end of April 2026, and all units are currently being delivered to the site on schedule. Envision’s track record of on-time project execution and delivery has laid the foundation for expanding the partnership through the Phu Cuong project and strengthening wind power infrastructure in Vietnam.
Edward Hou, Senior Vice President and President of Asia Pacific at Envision Energy, stated that the next phase of wind power development is defined not just by capacity scale, but by the ability to tailor technology to local resource characteristics and long-term energy system needs. He noted that the Phu Cuong project demonstrates how locally adapted technology, reliable execution, and full lifecycle services can create long-term value, representing a key step in developing Envision’s integrated Future Energy System in Southeast Asia.

He added that progress on the Vinh Long project has reinforced REE’s confidence in Envision as a reliable partner, and the Phu Cuong project represents the next step in their collaboration, aiming to deliver a high-quality project that supports sustainable nearshore wind development and contributes to Vietnam’s long-term energy transition.
