Environmentally Conscious, Police Launch ASRI Movement in Bekasi
Brimob Battalion D of Polda Metro Jaya has launched the Gerakan Indonesia ASRI (Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful) as a manifestation of the Indonesian National Police’s concern for the environment and a tangible effort to maintain public space comfort. Commander of the Brimob Unit of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, in his statement on Thursday, explained that the activity was conducted in collaboration with relevant agencies at Tegal Danas Market in Bekasi Regency. “The activity focused on cleaning public facilities, water channels, and the surrounding market environment to prevent puddling and create comfort for the community,” said Henik. According to him, environmental cleanliness has a direct impact on public health and economic activities. “The presence of Brimob is not only in security tasks but also provides real benefits through social actions directly felt by the community,” said Henik. He mentioned that the results of the activity were evident in the clean drainage channels free from rubbish blockages, reduced potential for water puddling, and a more orderly and comfortable market environment. “Synergy between apparatus and the community is also strengthening through direct cooperation in the field,” stated Henik. He also urged the public to continue maintaining environmental cleanliness by not littering indiscriminately and actively participating in preserving public facilities. “If potential disruptions to public security and order or emergency conditions are found, the public can immediately contact the Police’s 110 service for quick handling,” added Henik.
