Bojonegoro, East Java — Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq urged the Bojonegoro Regency Government in East Java to maximise waste management in the area by implementing the Aman, Sehat, Rapi dan Indah (ASRI) movement.

‘The Bojonegoro Regency Government has strived and cared to mobilise masses to campaign the ASRI movement, including waste management,’ the Environment Minister said in Bojonegoro on Friday.

The step, he said, is not only about maintaining cleanliness but also the Regency’s commitment to waste management, facilities and infrastructure, and active participation of residents.

Moreover, Hanif emphasised cross-sector cooperation such as the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and organisations, as the initial step to rekindle Bojonegoro’s spirit in bringing back the Adipura City title, which had not been achieved for some time.

‘I am ready to support and assist the Bojonegoro Regency Government to realise Adipura City. We must be optimistic, under the leadership of Setyo Wahono and Nurul Azizah, waste management in Bojonegoro will be better,’ he said.

In the same event, Bojonegoro Regent Setyo Wahono said the clean-up of the Bojonegoro tourist market area with the Environment Minister is a form of the ASRI movement that will continue to be carried out in Bojonegoro.

‘Community participation in this ASRI movement provides a shared spirit to safeguard Bojonegoro and hope to regain the Adipura City title,’ he said.
