Environment Minister (LH) and Head of the Environmental Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, has emphasised that companies’ environmental compliance must be evaluated periodically through the Company Performance Rating Programme (Proper) to ensure environmental governance aligns with regulations.

Hanif stated that every company is required to maintain complete environmental documentation and report it routinely. Evaluations are conducted periodically, including every six months, to assess the level of compliance with applicable regulations.

“Companies must have complete environmental documentation and report it periodically, including evaluations every six months. From there, the level of company compliance will be assessed,” Hanif said in his official statement on Thursday, 9 April 2026.

According to him, Proper is not only an oversight instrument but also a means to encourage companies to improve the quality of environmental management. The assessment reflects the extent to which companies fulfil their obligations in environmental protection and management.

Hanif explained that achievements in Proper also impact business aspects. Companies rated compliant with good environmental performance have the potential to increase investor trust.

“From a business perspective, Proper achievements also add value by enhancing investor confidence,” he said.

Additionally, he commended companies that successfully achieved good ratings in Proper. According to him, these companies have contributed to resource efficiency, pollution prevention, and activities that positively impact the community economy.

In the 2025 Proper event, the Ministry of Environment also awarded the Green Leadership accolade to the President Director of MIND ID, Maroef Sjamsoeddin. This award highlights the role of leadership in driving green transformation and implementing sustainability principles in the industrial sector.

The MIND ID Group itself recorded achievements by securing two Gold Proper and two Green Proper ratings from several of its member entities. These accomplishments demonstrate superior environmental management implementation.

For information, the Proper programme is part of the implementation of Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management. Through this programme, the government encourages companies to continuously improve compliance and environmental performance sustainably.
