Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, and Metro Jakarta Police Chief Irjen Asep Edi Suheri organised a cleanliness operation at Kramat Jati Market in East Jakarta. Officers worked together to clear rubbish from the market.

On Wednesday 11 March, the agenda began with a roll call assembly. Dozens of personnel were involved, including police, military and public service workers (PPSU).

Hanif stated that the cleanliness operation was a follow-up to an instruction from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the Indonesia ASRI programme. He also praised Metro Jakarta Police for fully supporting the central government’s initiative.

“Today, working alongside Metro Jakarta Police and the East Jakarta municipal administration, this activity must not be merely ceremonial—it must be implemented and embedded in our daily activities. As our president has instructed, we must conduct cleanliness operations, cleanliness operations, cleanliness operations,” Hanif said during his address at the location on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

After the assembly, officers swept through market alleyways and cleared remaining rubbish. They occasionally greeted traders and inquired about the availability of essential goods ahead of Eid 2026.

The Environment Minister also asked traders about market cleanliness conditions.

“Is it this clean every day or only when a minister is visiting?” asked Hanif.

“Every day it’s like this, sir—it’s cleaned every day,” responded a trader.

“Keep it clean, dispose of rubbish properly, and your sales will improve,” Hanif said.
