Environment & Economy: Astra UD Trucks' Programme at Boja Farm

Not only focusing on selling heavy-duty trucks, Astra UD Trucks is also introducing a sustainability programme through Desa Sejahtera Astra (DSA). For example, a visit to Boja Farm in Tajurhalang, Bogor, on Thursday, 21 May 2026. The Chief Executive Officer of Astra UD Trucks, Bambang Widjanarko, said the activity provides a firsthand opportunity to see how community empowerment programmes are implemented sustainably through developing village potential based on environmental, economic, and educational foundations. This aligns with UD Trucks’ products, which are claimed to be environmentally friendly. ‘Each company within Astra, including Astra UD Trucks, has its own CSR language. One aspect is building community sustainability. For example, we used to plant trees, and address exhaust emissions issues. So, in terms of product, we are already environmentally friendly,’ Bambang Widjanarko said on Thursday, 21 May 2026. He explained that UD Trucks’ products have emissions that are better for the environment. The area combines organic farming, value-added processing (downstreaming), and nature-based tourism and education such as farm stays, glamping, and farm tours. ‘Through this activity, Astra UD Trucks wants to demonstrate that sustainability is not only about environmental aspects but also about strengthening the local economy, developing village potential, and fostering collaborations that can create lasting social impact,’ he said.
