The Cianjur Regency government in West Java has reintroduced entrance fees to the Cibodas tourist area. The entrance fee is set at IDR 7,000 per person, effective from 14 May 2026.

The Head of the Cianjur Tourism and Culture Office, Yudha Azhar, stated that a trial run was conducted in March 2026, also serving as a form of socialisation following a hearing session with various stakeholders, including the Cianjur Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD).

“Based on the latest hearing session, the entrance fee for the Cibodas tourist area will be implemented, with a charge per person. No fees will be charged for vehicles, and ticket officers will be directly from the Cianjur Tourism and Culture Office,” he said in Cianjur, West Java, on Friday, 15 May 2026.

He assured that there would be no parking fees within the Cibodas tourist area. Tourists or vehicle owners can report any instances of individuals charging parking fees or other charges for appropriate action.

Furthermore, he stated that ticket officers will not use third parties but will be directly from the office. This ensures that the revenue collected each day goes directly into the regional revenue (PAD), with a target of IDR 2.4 billion.

Although the Cianjur Regency government had planned to implement a single ticket system for all tourist attractions in the Cibodas area, no agreement has been reached. Therefore, the ticket system will only apply to entry into the Cibodas tourist area and not to individual attractions within it.

“We continue to maintain communication in the hope that a single ticket system can be implemented for all tourist attractions within the Cibodas area,” he said.

He added that they remain open to communication with various parties, including local communities, especially traders who object to the reintroduction of entrance fees at the entrance to the Cibodas tourist area.

Meanwhile, most of the traders in the area are concerned that the number of visitors will decrease again, as the entrance fee has been a contributing factor to the decline in tourists visiting the area daily and on weekends.

“We hope that the implementation of the entrance fee will not reduce the number of visitors, as many traders have been struggling due to the decline in tourists. Most of them complain about the number of tickets they have to pay for,” said a trader, Acep.
