Entrepreneurs tried for pollution

PEKALONGAN, Central Java: The government is suing three textile businessmen for dumping untreated industrial waste into rivers.

"They were caught red-handed dumping waste into the rivers, causing heavy pollution," a spokesman for the Pekalongan regency administration, Masrof, said yesterday.

The case was submitted to the local prosecutors' office yesterday, Antara reported.

The textile factories, all located in same industrial park, were identified as PT Triteks, PT Kesmateks and PT Ezriteks.

Masrof said the unprocessed waste has polluted rivers and contaminated residents' wells. (pan)
