Entertainment centers penalized
JAKARTA (JP): The City Public Order Office reported that it has inspected 569 entertainment centers in an operation throughout the city over the last one year.
Head of the office Kuseini Budiantoro told reporters that out of the 569 centers, 34 were warned or fined for violating existing regulations and 27 were temporarily closed down.
He explained that his office faces various difficulties in carrying out the operation against centers which violate existing rules, as their owners frequently cannot be reached to settle the problems.
"We also find that some owners of the centers are reluctant to process permits for the operation of their businesses themselves but entrust the processing to brokers," Kuseini said.
Processing permits through brokers also hinders communication between the owners of the centers and municipal officials. (yns)
