Enterprises have difficult times
Enterprises have difficult times
From Neraca
In the present economic conditions small and middle level businessmen are undergoing difficult times. They have to finance their operations against high bank interest rates.
Businessmen in ARMI (an abbreviation for the Indonesian Moslem Business Association) hope that this situation will not continue lest their businesses becomes stagnant.
Many of their projects have been postponed due to price increases of raw materials. Accounts receivable are not coming in. They complain that despite the increases there are also postponement of payments by the government treasury although their projects were finished on time.
Businessmen with inadequate funds seem now to object to paying their employees. They have spent all their funds on finishing projects.
Even businessmen who employ two persons only are in a dilemma. They have no funds to pay them, while not wanting to dismiss them.
ARMI, our association, channels the complaints of its members. We appeal that debtors should immediately pay their debts and bank interest rates should be lowered.
We would be very grateful if in this situation, there are businessmen with large-scale businesses who are willing to help small and middle level businessmen to cope with the difficult conditions. Big businessmen have many fund resources.
Small and middle level businessmen mainly rely on bank loans with reasonable interest and timely payment of bills.
