Entering H+2 Lebaran 1447 Hijriah or 22 March 2026, beef in several traditional markets in Tasikmalaya, West Java, has started to experience a decline to Rp160,000 per kg.

Lela, 43, a resident of Indihiang Subdistrict, Tasikmalaya City, said that entering H+2 Lebaran, prices of various basic necessities in traditional markets are gradually decreasing, but they remain expensive. However, prices of basic goods are still not stable, and traders cite waiting for the harvest period while farmers are still on holiday.

“Prices of basic goods from several traders have decreased, such as beef sold for Rp160,000, chicken meat Rp46,000 per kg, medium rice Rp13,500, premium rice Rp14,000 to Rp16,000, eggs Rp31,000, bulk cooking oil Rp23,000, and packaged Minyakita Rp19,500 per litre,” she said on Sunday (22/3).

Another buyer, Lilis, 44, a resident of Cipedes, said that the need for red chilli commodities is still widely complained about by buyers because although prices have decreased, they remain expensive, such as bird’s eye chilli Rp95,000, local red chilli Rp70,000, large red chilli Rp95,000, curly red chilli Rp70,000, lamb chilli Rp100,000 per kg.

“Traders reason that due to weather factors in recent days, many fields have been affected by pests like patek, and others are waiting for the harvest period. However, for shallots, they are now sold for Rp43,000, garlic Rp45,000, and kitchen spices like ginger, candlenuts, and galangal have increased by Rp1,500 per kg,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cikurubuk Main Market UPTD, Deri Herlisana, said that prices of basic necessities in several traditional markets, including Cikurubuk, have seen beef prices creeping up until now starting to decrease gradually, such as beef initially sold for Rp180,000 down to Rp160,000, chicken meat Rp48,000 down to Rp46,000, eggs Rp32,000 to Rp31,000 per kg.

“Entering H+2 Lebaran, basic necessities are gradually decreasing, and supplies are still facing obstacles due to weather factors and waiting for the harvest period. However, rice needs in various areas are not yet stable, such as medium rice sold for Rp13,500 per kg, premium quality rice Rp14,000 to Rp16,000 per kg,” he concluded.
