Entering Dry Season, Metro Jaya Police Prepare Personnel and Equipment to Anticipate Disasters

The Metro Jaya Regional Police held a Personnel and Equipment Readiness Assembly aimed at preventing and managing disasters, specifically anticipating hazards during the approaching dry season. The assembly was led by Metro Jaya Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwono at the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate field on Monday. It involved 233 personnel, comprising 80 members from the Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade Unit, 100 personnel from the Samapta Directorate, 50 personnel from the Water and Air Police Directorate, and 3 personnel from the Medical and Health Division. In his directives, the Deputy Police Chief urged all personnel to heighten vigilance against various potential disasters, particularly floods, fires, and drought. He stated that preparedness must begin with mapping vulnerable areas together with all stakeholders, covering flood-prone zones, drought and clean water crisis areas, fire hotspots, final disposal sites, and reserve water sources usable during emergencies. Deputy Police Chief Dekananto also stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and synergy with the Indonesian National Armed Forces, regional governments, the Regional Disaster Management Agency, the Fire and Rescue Service, the National Search and Rescue Agency, and other relevant institutions to ensure disaster management is conducted swiftly, accurately, and in an integrated manner. All personnel were instructed to maintain readiness, ensure equipment is in good condition, and prioritise the safety of officers and the public in every task. Beyond personnel and equipment readiness, Brigadier General Dekananto emphasised the importance of enhancing public education on water conservation and fire hazard awareness. Meanwhile, the police force was ordered to enforce the law firmly against any negligence or actions that result in fires. The one-star general added that these efforts are to ensure the readiness of personnel, equipment, and coordination in facing various potential disasters within the Metro Jaya Police jurisdiction. In addition to personnel, the police also displayed disaster management facilities, including Armoured Water Cannon vehicles, search and rescue vehicles, rubber boats, light fire extinguishers, ambulances, communication devices, and other supporting equipment to confirm their operational readiness. Through this assembly, the Metro Jaya Police affirmed its commitment to continuously strengthening personnel and equipment readiness and synergising with all stakeholders to deliver a rapid, precise, and coordinated response in protecting the public from various potential disasters.
