Ensuring Safety of Free Homecoming Participants in Bogor, Bus Drivers Undergo Urine Tests
Approximately 4,000 residents from Bogor Regency, West Java, are participating in the free homecoming programme. One measure to ensure journey safety is conducting urine tests on bus drivers. “Earlier, we checked the bus drivers for health and urine, and also conducted alcohol checks,” said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto on Wednesday (18/3/2026). The results showed that the bus drivers were clear and ready to drive safely. Another effort involved checking the roadworthiness of the vehicles used, known as a ramp check. “Alhamdulillah, everything was clear earlier, all safe and orderly for the drivers. Yesterday, we conducted ramp checks on the vehicles prepared for today’s departure, and insyaallah they can deliver the homecomers to their respective destinations,” he added. 77 Bus Fleets Prepared Previously, the Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) along with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) organised the free homecoming for residents. Approximately 4,000 residents departed on the free homecoming today. “Around 4,000 residents of Bogor Regency are participating today in the free homecoming event with the Bogor Regency Government and Bogor Police Resort,” said Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto. Participants departed from Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong. A total of 77 bus units were prepared to transport these free homecoming participants. “The 2026 Bogor Regency Free Homecoming is slightly different because we are preparing a substantial number of fleets, namely 77 fleets: 40 fleets from the Bogor Regency Government, 20 fleets prepared directly by the Bogor Police Chief along with the Bogor Police Resort apparatus, and 17 fleets prepared through collaboration with several private parties in Bogor Regency,” he explained. Several cities are destinations for today’s free homecoming. From West Java, Central Java, to East Java, with various routes taken. “The destinations are Central Java, East Java, and some in West Java Province, then border areas, southern Pantura regions.
