Ensuring Rice Stock Security, Habiburokhman Inspects Bulog Warehouse in Kelapa Gading
The inspection of the Perum Bulog warehouse in Kelapa Gading took place today, Monday (4/5/2026). During the visit, Habiburokhman was directly accompanied by the CEO of Perum Bulog, Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, along with his team.
It was stated that the visit forms part of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ (DPR RI) supervisory function over strategic sectors, particularly concerning national food security. Before inspecting the Bulog warehouse, Ahmad Rizal conveyed that the rice stocks in Bulog warehouses exceed 5 million tons.
Subsequently, Habiburokhman checked the stocks, rice quality, and the process of packing rice into sacks. He emphasised that rice self-sufficiency must be real, not merely a claim.
“This is important to ensure that our rice stocks are truly secure and sufficient. Rice self-sufficiency must be real, not just a claim,” said Habiburokhman in his statement.
He affirmed that Perum Bulog plays a strategic role in maintaining the stability of rice supply and prices among the public. He also mentioned that in the near future, Muslims in Indonesia will celebrate Idul Adha.
In addition, Habiburokhman highlighted the importance of transparency in managing government rice reserves to maintain public trust. Commission III of DPR RI, he continued, will conduct oversight to ensure that all government policies in the food sector run optimally and on target.
“This visit also serves as a concrete step by DPR RI in ensuring that the state is present in safeguarding the basic needs of the people, particularly the national availability of rice,” he added.
