Ensuring Precision: Parigi District Attorney's Office Oversees Implementation of Free Nutritious Meal Programme
Parigi, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The Parigi Moutong District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) is actively involved in overseeing the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme in Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi, to ensure that this national priority programme is conducted transparently, accountably, and reaches the intended targets.
“Supervision is carried out through the ‘Jaksa Jaga Dapur MBG’ (Prosecutors Guarding the MBG Kitchen) programme,” stated the Head of Intelligence at the Parigi District Attorney’s Office, Rony Hotman Gunawan, during a legal briefing for the heads of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) and various cross-sectoral stakeholders in Parigi on Thursday.
During the session, he emphasised the importance of prevention following several reported cases of food poisoning during the implementation of similar programmes in other regions.
Through the ‘Jaksa Jaga Dapur MBG’ programme, the scope of supervision is comprehensive, covering quality and portion control, the prevention of irregularities, the provision of public complaint channels, and local supervisory collaboration through the use of digital platforms (applications).
“Our coordination efforts, conducted through meetings, are directed at ensuring every organiser understands their duties and responsibilities, particularly in implementing food safety standards, kitchen hygiene, processing methods, storage, and the distribution of food to students,” he said.
He stated that his office is committed to intensifying supervision and prevention from the earliest stages to minimise potential issues in the execution of the MBG programme.
This legal briefing and coordination also form part of a conventional supervisory pattern involving the local Food Security Office, Health Office, Education Office, and Environmental Office (DLH).
“Integrated coordination and supervision are vital parts of maintaining the MBG programme, ensuring it proceeds in an orderly, safe, and compliant manner,” said Rony.
He explained that from a legal perspective, the ‘Jaksa Jaga Dapur MBG’ programme ensures the accountability of state budget management and enforces legal compliance to prevent deviations and corruption in this national strategic programme.
“We are also mitigating legal risks by conducting early detection of potential maladministration or the misuse of state funds before they escalate into legal violations,” Rony added.
