Ensuring Avtur Supply at Two Main Embarkation Points, Pertamina Activates Hajj Task Force for 2026 in Kalimantan
To ensure the smooth operation of Hajj flights, particularly in the provision of avtur fuel at the two main embarkation points, namely Balikpapan and Banjarmasin, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan has officially activated the Hajj Task Force (Satgas) for 2026.
The activation of the Task Force was marked by an opening ceremony and joint prayer held in a hybrid format at the Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Sepinggan in Balikpapan and AFT Syamsudin Noor in Banjarmasin, with participation from all AFTs in the Kalimantan region.
Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, Isfahani, stated on Tuesday (21/4) that this step is in line with the designation of Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport and Syamsudin Noor Airport as Hajj embarkation points for 2026 in the Kalimantan region. Nationally, Hajj operations will commence on 21 April 2026 from Yogyakarta, while departures from Balikpapan are scheduled to begin on 26 April and from Banjarmasin on 24 April.
“The formation of the Hajj Task Force is an effort to ensure comprehensive operational readiness throughout the Hajj period,” she said.
Through the Hajj Task Force 2026, Pertamina ensures that all operational aspects run optimally while prioritising safety. Readiness extends beyond avtur stocks to include strengthened control and monitoring of distribution, health service support for personnel, and team reliability.
She added that operations during the Hajj season will run 24 hours a day, making physical preparedness and team coordination key factors in maintaining service smoothness.
Meanwhile, Aviation Fuel Terminal Manager Sepinggan, I Ketut Sugawa, confirmed that comprehensive technical preparations on the ground have been carried out, covering both human resources and supporting facilities.
“We have mapped personnel and ensured all facilities are in reliable condition, including equipment inspections and hose circulation checks on refueller platforms. For avtur stock resilience, we prepare supplies under normal conditions with regular coordination to meet ongoing needs,” he explained.
In the Kalimantan region, a total of 13,047 regular Hajj pilgrims will be served. The breakdown includes 5,812 pilgrims from East Kalimantan and 489 from North Kalimantan departing via Balikpapan. Meanwhile, 5,187 pilgrims from South Kalimantan and 1,559 from Central Kalimantan will depart via Banjarmasin.
Pertamina hopes that the entire series of Hajj operations this year will proceed smoothly, safely, and on time, in line with the company’s commitment to maintaining reliable energy distribution, particularly to support the smooth Hajj pilgrimage for Indonesian pilgrims.
